Frequently asked questions

The price: how much will it cost?

All websites are priced individually. Each project is different and the scope can vary wildly —  from a small ‘Business card’ type site, to a large ecommerce website with a Content Management System*.

Just to give an indication though: a website like www.CapableSolutions.co.uk would cost something in the region of £600. This is on the basis that the wording and images are supplied by the client.

Ad hoc updates are charged at £20 per hour, with update & maintenance packages being charged at discounted rates. Contact me for more details.

* A Content Management System (or CMS): a system that allows the less technically inclined to update their website via a word-processor-style interface. Back to the top of the page

How long will it take to build my website?

The best thing is to talk to me directly about this one as it depends on a number of factors:

  • The size and complexity of the required website
  • How soon you can provide the necessary content
  • How much work I have on at the time

I will always give an honest estimate of how long your site will take to create.

At the moment I am taking on new work from the end of December so give me a call or email me for a chat about your website. Back to the top of the page

What about when I need to update it?

Your website will of course need to be updated. Quite how often will depend on the type of site you have, but you will soon lose the confidence of your customers if your website has outdated content.

I offer discounted Update Packages or ad hoc updates from £20 per hour. Back to the top of the page

What will I need to provide?

Whilst I design and build a website tailored to the needs of your business, the content will need to come from yourself. This includes:

  • The words — I'll be happy to assist in knocking them into shape
  • Images — a website without pictures looks a little drab. Again I can source pictures for your website if required
  • Logo/corporate image — if you don't already have a logo I can create a unique mark suitable for your website and stationery.
